2024 Nissan Sentra

Overview

The 2024 Sentra continues to bring excitement to the compact sedan category with a sophisticated appearance that defies its affordability. The Sentra enters 2024 with a new face and new trim details. The front sports a new interpretation of the V-Motion grille with horizontal slats extending to the grille’s edge for a cleaner appearance. The lower and side intakes have also been moved and reshaped for the same purpose. Revised headlights accompany the new grille, and the model line sports new 16-inch and 18-inch wheel designs. Under the hood, you will find a new Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), and Idle Stop-Start is standard across the model line.

Performance

All Sentra models are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. Every Sentra has front-wheel-drive paired with a new Xtronic continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) designed to provide a smoother shift pattern and reduce fuel consumption. The standard Idle Stop Start feature can shut off the engine when the vehicle is stopped to further save fuel, which is particularly useful in city driving with long traffic lights or freeway congestion. Most Sentra models are EPA-rated at 30 city, 40 highway, and 34 combined, representing a one mpg improvement across the board over last year’s model. 

The Sentra has a comfortable ride thanks to a 4-wheel independent suspension with struts in front and a multi-link arrangement in the rear. Stabilizer bars in the front and rear help control lateral body movement. The ride is smooth, and the handling is controlled, giving you confidence behind the wheel. That confidence is further enhanced by a standard brake-actuated limited-slip differential that keeps the Sentra sure-footed when taking a curve. 

Interior

The Sentra is designed to comfortably seat four and five overall. The driver has a 6-way adjustable seat, and all seats are covered with cloth, premium cloth, leatherette, or leather, depending on the trim and available packages. The Sentra instrument panel features both ease of use and inspiration from Nissan’s sports car heritage, as seen by the three-round central climate control vents and the tri-spoke steering wheel with a flat bottom. Dual white-on-black analog gauges continue the sport theme. 

Available satin chrome interior accents and contrast seat stitching further elevate the interior ambiance. Yet it is practical with abundant storage options, including front and rear door pockets, a center console with armrest, and an available rear-seat armrest with cupholders. Behind the seats is 14.3 cubic feet of cargo space, which can expand into the cabin with standard 60/40 split-folding seatbacks. 

You will keep connected in the Sentra with an infotainment system that features Bluetooth®, Hands-Free Text Messaging Assistant, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, Siri® Eyes-Free, and Google Assistant™ Voice Recognition. The standard touch screen is 7 inches, while SV and SR models upgrade to an 8-inch screen with additional USB ports. Likewise, the S features a 4-speaker audio system while the SV and SR upgrade to 6 speakers, and available SiriusXM® satellite radio.

Safety and Driver Assistance

All Sentras are equipped with the Nissan Safety Shield® 360 system. This suite of advanced driver-assist technologies includes:

• Blind Spot Warning
• Rear Cross Traffic Alert
• Lane Departure Warning
• High Beam Assist
• Rear Automatic Braking. 
• Intelligent Forward Collision Warning is also standard on all models. 

Warnings from these systems not only come from audio alerts but can also be felt through haptic vibrations from the steering wheel. Higher in the model line, you will find additional driver assistance technologies such as Intelligent Driver Alertness, Intelligent Cruise Control, and Intelligent Around View® Monitor, which uses exterior cameras to provide a 360-degree view around the vehicle for greater situational awareness when starting and perfect positioning when parking.

The standard Easy-Fill Tire Alert system is a unique convenience feature that can assist tire inflation by using the horn to indicate when a tire reaches its appropriate pressure. The Rear Door Alert can warn drivers of any forgotten items in the back seat at the end of their journey.
