2025 Nissan Kicks Inspired by Sports Gear

College football is back in Columbia! The SEC powers will visit Williams-Brice Stadium on the campus of the University of South Carolina again for a full season of clashes aimed at a bowl invitation or a shot at the National Championship.

College football has a rich tradition across this state, as has the look of sports gear, including sneakers. The latter are also called “kicks”—just like our upcoming new smaller SUV, the 2025 Nissan Kicks

Many pundits have remarked on how the new Kicks looks much different than any Nissan before, and it all comes down to the inspiration of its designers. They see that many of its customers love wearing sports gear from head to toe. Whether it is Gamecocks jerseys or the coolest sneakers, owners have no qualms about rocking their gear anywhere they go – including on campus at the tailgate.

For design inspiration, the team Nissan’s studios worldwide took notes on ideas to craft the 2025 Kicks. For example, they looked at the soles of most athletic shoes and their grippy crosshatch design on the rubber soles. That inspired the geometric design on the front bumper and rocker panels.

High-end sneakers inspired the 2025 Kicks on the inside. On the outside, you can see a pop of color between the body color and the contrasting roof, just like special editions of Air Jordans or the best running shoes from Brooks. That same idea is carried into the cabin with sporty fabric inserts on the seats and door cards.

Another point of inspiration came from the linebacker position on a college football field. That created a sense of protection through the 2025 Kicks’ frontal view with its big, strong fenders and a rounded cabin and roof section resting on top of the beltline. The Nissan designers were able to replicate the profile of a football helmet on top of a linebacker’s padded shoulders.

Further evidence of college football’s influence on the design of the 2025 Kicks is on the daytime running lights. The designers said that they were shaped in the form of the eye black grease worn on the face by many college football players.

Why do we mention these references to college football? Nissan continues to sponsor the Heisman Memorial Trophy. You might just see the 2025 Kicks on our “Heisman House” commercials this coming college football season.

Nissan designers looked beyond the automotive world to deliver a fresh, bold look. They have done so to maximize the character for the final 2025 Kicks design as formed by Nissan Design America in San Diego, California.

The designers at Nissan poured their time and efforts into creating the character of the 2025 Kicks. If you are looking for a vehicle that offers character quality, practicality, and fun, contact us at Dick Smith Nissan of Columbia to become one of the first owners of one soon!
